Program Manager Position - Greater San Diego Area 

MaXentric is an advanced research, development, and consulting company. We have built a portfolio of technologies that service both commercial and government markets. Today we push these innovative ideas to the next level through a variety of programs and funding. As the Program Manager you will direct and execute the delivery, development, integration, and overall management of programs. You will coordinate all programmatic activities, to include: proposal preparation, initial kickoff meetings, proposal schedules, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, financial terms/conditions of contract, and status reporting. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage programs or sub-programs that are TRL 3-6
  • Act as main point of contact with the customer in support of delivery and coordination of the internal program team
  • Perform product life cycle cost/benefit analysis, tradeoff studies, earned value analysis and risk reduction initiatives with evidence of development and execution
  • Communicate program information internally and externally through formal and informal presentations and correspondence
  • Coordinate, prepare and support data preparation and management activities for overarching business needs and maintain program performance
  • Identify, qualify and present new business initiatives for current customers to leadership for both domestic and international pursuits
  • Maintain status reports of programs and customer commitments and monitor technical performance, schedule and cost
  • Secure internal resources and ensure program-wide focus on safety, reliability, cost, schedule and adequacy of systems, procedures and people for long term success
  • Manage program baseline changes and configuration control
  • Lead other program managers or project managers as part of a line of business or products

 REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, or equivalent field experience 
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience and demonstrated results in leading development or production efforts

Junior FPGA Designer - Greater San Diego Area

As a Junior FPGA Designer, you will be part of a highly skilled team to design and integrate state-of-the-art algorithms on advanced hybrid DSP/FPGA platforms using the latest Altera and Xilinx FPGAs, with the specific focus on advanced wireless communication modem functions. As a team member, you will make design decisions from the ground level of bleeding-edge technologies in a startup-like environment. The ideal candidate will be someone who solves problems, takes ownership of their work, and retains a sense of urgency to meet project deadlines. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in developing FPGA functional requirements, specifications and platform selections based on project requirements
  • Design and implement various FPGA interfaces and control including SPI, UART, ADCs, DACs, etc. 
  • Integrate custom and vendor IP cores as well as improve and reuse existing VHDL modules
  • Interact with radio system engineering staff to develop and verify FPGA functional requirements prior to implementation, testing and debugging of mixed signal prototypes to verify performance

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years of FPGA code development and design experience
  • High proficiency in all phases of FPGA code development 
  • Proficient in Modelsim simulator including testbench 
  • Proficient in tools such as Xilinx ISE and/or Altera Quartus,

Advanced Wireless Embedded Systems Development Internship - Greater San Diego Area

MaXentric works on next generation mobile platforms. Our technology has attracted customers, including 4G cellular base-station integrators, NASA, the Navy and DARPA. Our team spans multiple disciplines including software developers, DSP/FPGA/Multicore experts, and wireless network communications experts. As an intern you will be involved with design decisions from the ground level of bleeding-edge technologies in a startup-like environment. This internship will be located in MaXentric’s California office, downtown La Jolla.

Because of the technical challenges of our projects we are looking for students who are curiosity-driven and who have an interest in working on future generation advanced communications systems. For our work with advanced wireless ad-hoc/mesh network development we are looking for interns that will help with development of new network routing protocols in both embedded Linux and Android environments. We are looking for students with good programming experience (C/C++, Java) in both those environments, combined with a solid network communication understanding (for instance TCP/IP, WiFi, Bluetooth). Hands-on familiarity with real-time systems and network programming is a definite plus.

Senior Software Development Engineer: Wireless Networking R&D - Greater San Diego Area

We are looking for a senior software developer to drive our R&D efforts in next generation advanced wireless networks. In this role we expect you to have a wide spectrum of expertise, ranging from comprehensive know-how of ad-hoc routing protocol to security mechanisms for Cloud based wireless network functionality. This position will be located in MaXentric’s California office in downtown La Jolla.

In your daily work, you need to tackle complex software system design and performance analysis mixed with hands-on software development & programming. We believe you have a PhD or Master’s degree in EE/CS and at least five to ten years’ experience in the wireless industry. Below are some of the qualifications we are looking for:

  • Up-to-date, hands-on software design, development and programming experience (C/C++, Java, etc.) on Unix based embedded systems, for instance Linux, Android, iOS. This includes real-time systems as well.
  • In-depth understanding of advanced IP networking, including hands-on network programming skills.
  • Extensive wireless standards expertise in, for instance, WiFi, Cellular 2G/3G/4G, and Bluetooth. Experience with tactical wireless network design and development is a definitive advantage.
  • Capable of analyzing, designing and implementing wireless ad-hoc networking routing protocols.
  • Comprehensive proficiency to carry out network performance analysis by means of analytic mathematical models, simulation/emulation and testbed experiments.
  • Capable of designing wireless systems that include Cloud based and database components.
