RF Lab Manager / Experienced Electronics Engineer

MaXentric Technologies LLC, a provider of wireless technology solutions, products, and services for commercial and military applications, has several full-time engineering positions open with the potential for growth, targeted for candidates with significant RF Laboratory management with a degree in Electrical Engineering. This position is available at our Fort Lee NJ Office. The ideal candidate will be someone who solves problems and takes ownership of their work, and retains a sense of urgency to meet project deadlines. Primary Responsibilities

As part of your essential duties of this position, you will:

This position is for an Experienced Electronics Engineer or RF Lab Manager (with significant highly relevant experience) to build, maintain and service a high-end electronics lab for a small company involved in the leading edge R&D efforts for the DoD.  The technical tasks and responsibilities include testing of prototype electronic modules (including radio frequency (RF) transceivers and modems) and the maintenance of a small laboratory facility with all the equipment needed for this kind of development work.  Key parts of your ESSENTIAL DUTIES of this position include:

    • Under limited supervision; responsible for the operation and coordination of the MaXentric’s RF testing and prototyping laboratory to:
      • Perform routine and advanced electronic measurements of digital electronic design parameters.
      • Report module testing status to development Engineers as appropriate.
      • Be responsible for monitoring calibration status of test equipment.
      • Perform calibration checks on electronic test instruments.
      • Troubleshoot electronic test instruments to determine cause and remedy problem
    • understanding the research and working with one or more Principal Development Engineers in the development of projects undertaken at MaXentric
    • Contributing in designs and developments in support of hardware development for advanced RF and wireless communications systems
    • assisting other more senior Development Engineers in the post fabrication support, assembly and testing of digital electronic prototype modules as well as RF based transceivers such as RF amplifiers and radar unit from schematics, sketches and verbal instructions
    • complete understanding and application of machining, hand tools, electrical/RF test equipment (network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, Waveform generators, digital oscilloscope, DVM, etc.), and schematic capture, post board fabrication testing, parts and components selection and ordering

Required Skills:

  • Must have extensive RF/Microwave lab skills with a high degree of familiarity with the operation of oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, digitizer, arbitrary waveform generator, synthesizer, etc.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of wireless technology or RF
  • Ability to analyze and resolve highly complex technical problems quickly and independently.
  • Knowledge of / Emphasis / Experience in at least 2 of the following is a major advantage
    • Electronic design in one of the following specialties: RF/Analog circuit design or power conversion circuit design.
    • Electrical concepts pertaining wireless communication transmitter and receiver line-ups.
    • Mechanical concepts pertaining to RF power circuits.
    • Wireless communication systems.
    • Control and communication theory.
  • Experience with at least 3 of the following CAD/Simulation/Software tools is a major advantage
    • Matlab and SimuLink
    • Keysight ADS or AWR Microwave Office
    • Keysight SystemVue or AWR VSS
    • National Instruments LabView
    • Cadence Analog Environment or RFSpectre
  • Work well in collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
