The MaXphone™ offers a modern solution, eliminating cumbersome half-measures and expensive workarounds to provide a seamless transition between LMR and smartphone Next Gen data and voice communication. 

The MaXphone’s™ clip-on phone jacket, the MaXjacket™, enables real-time data transmissions to smoothly encompass LMR, cellular, and Wi-Fi networks. With Android’s vast digital marketplace, the MaXphone™ can operate on a user-generated application that would cover the user’s communication requirements.

Technical Overview

While the MaXphone™ operates on compatible software on a smartphone, the MaXjacket™ hosts an LMR radio device jacket. This electronic sleeve is easily removable, and houses all required radio equipment and an extended battery.  

The MaXphone™ runs on a VoIP-P25 network gateway that integrates voice services accessed over P25 and IP-based networks like cellular and Wi-fi. With this cost-effective system, the MaXphone™ performs smoothly on an adaptable COTS platform without sacrificing quality communication.

  • Android developers can create first responder applications that roam between LMR, cellular, or Wi-Fi. 
  • Enabled through an attachable smartphone jacket (MaXjacket™). It contains all the necessary radio equipment plus battery.

  • Leverages the low-cost and high performance of COTS platforms. 
  • Existing LMR accessories (PTT headset, microphones, etc) can be reused with MaXphone™, along with many Bluetooth peripherals. 
  • Applications will be shared nationwide through a “Public Safety App Store”, empowering the first responder community.
